Provoet

ProVoet has three different types of pedicures among its members. For which foot problems can you go to which pedicure?

Pedicure

The pedicure (MBO level 3) takes care of the feet of people with all kinds of foot problems. During the treatment she takes care of the nails and removes calluses and - if present - corns. Before the treatment, the pedicure performs a foot examination and makes blueprints if necessary. pedicure has a signaling function and advises on, among other things, footwear, personal hygiene and skin care.

If necessary, she refers the client to a specialized colleague or to the general practitioner.

Specialized pedicure (Pedicure with note DV and / or RV)

The pedicurist who has a certificate 'foot care for diabetics' and / or 'foot care for rheumatism patients' has undergone further training after the training. The pedicurist works according to established guidelines and knows when to forward the client to the (treating) doctor.

(There are national agreements about the treatment of patients with diabetes and the treatment of patients with rheumatism. These are laid down in the 'Guidelines'.)

Medical Pedicure

The medical pedicure (MBO level 4) is broadly trained and has more treatment options for more complex foot and nail problems than the pedicure trained at MBO level 3. She can treat all so-called risk feet. By this we mean, among other things, problems that have arisen as a result of rheumatism, diabetes, spasticity, old age and neglect. In addition, the medical pedicure has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of orthesiology, nail regulation and repair and anti-pressure techniques. The medical pedicurist works according to established guidelines and knows when to refer the client to the (treating) doctor. The medical pedicure works efficiently with other healthcare providers.
